Tamedia: Handover of single ad production will be implemented as planned
The handover of single ad production to external partners announced in November 2010 is being implemented as planned. In Zurich, Production Services will hand over the production of individual ads to a partner in Germany at the beginning of 2012.
Production in Bern will be transferred to a second German partner in mid-2012. Tamedia made this announcement in a press release on Wednesday. With this step, Production Services is reacting to the sharp decline in work volumes over the past few years due to the decrease in individual advertisements and the increasing digital delivery of print-ready advertisements. The cooperation with specialized providers, who already produce advertisements for renowned German daily and weekly newspapers, ensures professional and stable production at competitive costs, Tamedia added. Service organizations are being set up in Berne and Zurich to coordinate the process.
The handover is expected to lead to 15 early retirements and 5 redundancies in Bern and Zurich by summer 2012. Tamedia's social plan and the corresponding early retirement program will apply to the employees affected.
