20 minutes online: Ueli Walther is the new head of news
The new head of news at 20 Minuten online is Ueli Walther. The former deputy editor-in-chief of the Sunday newspaper took up the newly created position on January 1, 2011.
The editorial team of 20 Minuten Online has grown more and more in recent years, Tamedia spokesman Christoph Zimmer told the news agency SDA. He added that the focus must not only be on the strategic development of the platform, but also on day-to-day business. That is why the new position has been created, Zimmer continued, confirming a corresponding report by Klein Report on Tuesday.
Walther, 50, worked until September 2010 as a deputy editor-in-chief and page-maker at the Sonntagszeitung. Previously, he was a page-maker and member of the editorial board at Blick and worked, among other things, as a correspondent in London, Brussels and in the Federal Parliament.
