SBB launches sales promotion measures for MMS tickets

Seven months after their introduction, SBB's MMS tickets are rarely used. SBB has therefore now resorted to sales promotion measures.

Seven months after their introduction, SBB's MMS tickets are rarely used. The electronic ticketing system has only 4300 registered customers for the service so far, as reported by Netzwoche. SBB now wants to support the MobileTicket idea with sales promotion measures. The previously chargeable telephone number for ordering MMS tickets at CHF 1.19/minute has been abolished and replaced with a free number. As a second sales promotion measure, the MobileTicket is now also available for all Click&Rail Switzerland offers, and MobileTickets can now also be ordered online via the "SBB Ticket Shop" on cell phones. This expansion of the offer and platform should help the project to be a success after all. "We are expecting high growth," SBB spokesman Christian Ginsig told Netzwoche. "We are convinced that MMS is a sales channel of the future."
