Coop launches new chocolate brand "Halba

On Monday, Coop presented the new chocolate brand "Halba - Le Chocolatier Suisse". With the launch of the new brand, Coop aims to strengthen its product range and further invest in its own production facilities and in Switzerland as a business location.

In Switzerland, chocolate has tradition and is associated with many emotions. "Halba - Le Chocolatier Suisse" aims to build precisely on these values, according to a Coop statement. The range includes milk chocolates, dark and white creations, and a wide variety of fillings. The wide range is intended to appeal to the whole of Switzerland.

Chocolate Made in Switzerland

The new Coop chocolate is developed and processed in Switzerland. "In 2017, we opened our new chocolate factory in Pratteln, one of the most modern production lines in Switzerland. Now we are investing further in our own production as well as in Switzerland as a business location," explains Philipp Wyss, Head of Marketing / Procurement. The chocolate is offered in the medium price segment. A 100-gram bar of classic milk chocolate costs 1.60 Swiss francs and 100 grams of the fine pistachio creation are available for 2.20 Swiss francs.

New standards in sustainability

The new chocolate should not only taste first-class, but also be sustainable. With the new chocolate brand, Coop wants to support biodiverse cocoa cultivation and is in direct contact with the cocoa farmers. The new chocolate line is Fairtrade certified and bears the corresponding label. It will also be CO2-neutral and is free of palm oil.
