The 39-year-old Küng, who was unanimously elected by the board of directors, succeeds Peter Engler, as Lenzerheide Bergbahnen communicated on Wednesday. Engler, who is also an FDP politician, had resigned in October because he stood for election as Davos mayor and apparently expected to be successful.

However, the 58-year-old was not elected head of government in Davos and had to make do with second place. Engler is leaving the company as planned after eight years. With Thomas Küng taking up his post, an orderly handover has been ensured, the mountain railroads wrote. (SDA)
