Swiss tourism is pleased with a strong autumn

The recovery of Swiss tourism continues in the fall, according to the SonntagsZeitung. Switzerland is in high demand, not least in Asia.

For example, Switzerland Travel Centre, a subsidiary of Hotelleriesuisse, Switzerland Tourism and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), is expecting revenue growth of around 10 percent for the months of September and October compared to the fall of last year, based on the current booking status.

As Managing Director Michael Maeder says, these strong figures were due on the one hand to Swiss guests and on the other to travelers from China, South Korea and Taiwan. So far, the North Korea crisis has not had any negative impact on the popularity of Asian travel.

Meanwhile, not only hotels are experiencing an upswing, but also alpine huts, which can be booked via a joint platform of Switzerland Tourism and the vacation apartment provider E-Domizil. Here, too, the September figures are significantly above those of June, it is said. (hae)
