Coca-Cola does without Christmas truck

Following the attack on the Berlin Christmas market, beverage giant Coca-Cola has decided to forgo a promotional trip with a Christmas truck planned for Friday.

"Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends, with whom we grieve," the company said late Wednesday. The final event of the so-called Christmas tour of Coca-Cola trucks was to take place at the Brandenburg Gate. According to the company, many people had been looking forward to the event in Berlin. "But we are guided by respect for the victims as well as their families and all other people touched by the events," Coca-Cola further announced. Twelve people were killed and nearly 50 others injured in the truck attack at the Christmas market at Berlin's Memorial Church near Kurfürstendamm on Monday. (SDA)
