As every year, around 200 films of all genres, lengths and formats were screened over eleven days from February 15 to 25 at the 74th edition of the Berlinale and awarded prizes in various categories. In the "Generation Kplus" competition, the RTS co-production "Reinas" by Klaudia Reynicke won the Grand Prix of the International Jury for Best Film. The film is set in Peru in the summer of 1992. "Reinas" is a production of RTS and Alva Film and was premiered on February 17 in the "Generation Kplus" section. The film, which tells of everyday family life and gives a voice to the country of Peru and its specific political history, convinced the international jury with its harmonious interplay of acting, lighting, characters and story.

SRG co-productions celebrate premiere at the Berlinale

In addition to "Reinas", two other SRG co-productions were in the program at this year's Berlinale. Following its world premiere at the Solothurn Film Festival, the feature film "Le paradis de Diane" by Carmen Jaquier and Jan Gassmann was shown in Berlin as an international premiere in the "Panorama" section. The documentary "Il cassetto segreto", a co-production between RSI and Rough cat as well as Cinecittà and Rai Cinema from Italy, was shown as a world premiere in the "Forum" section on February 20.

For the tenth time, the Co-Pro Series event took place during the Berlinale Series Market, at which ten selected international series projects were presented at a pitch event. This year's selection included series projects from Iran, Namibia and Argentina as well as the Swiss series "La Linea della Palma" by Swiss production company Hugofilm Features. The series is currently being developed by RSI and is only the second Swiss production to be invited to this pitch after the SRF co-production "Davos 1917". Each year, the pitches are accompanied by a networking event and meetings that give the producers and creators of the projects the opportunity to exchange ideas with potential co-producers, financiers and representatives of global distributors, funding institutions, TV broadcasters and platforms.
