Multiplier wins the "Prix Carte de Noël" 2022

Once again this year, Evoq Communications is awarding the "Prix Carte de Noël" for the most attractive festive mailing. The prize goes to Multiplier for a digital fireside.

This year, the Evoq jury for the "Prix Carte de Noël," which honors the most beautiful holiday greetings, did not have it easy. This is because the agency has the impression that festive communication in the form of Christmas and New Year's mail is mutating into a discontinued model in the business environment, Evoq writes in a statement.

But one card still won over the agency: The agency Multiplikator from Basel sent out a card in 2022 that can be digitally upgraded. If you scan the QR code on the back, your smartphone loads the video of a crackling fireplace. You can then slide the cell phone into the slot provided and let the fire sizzle until the battery collapses.

Longing for snow

About half of the cards sent in use the insignia typical of the season, such as Christmas trees, candles, stars, or pine cones. Motifs with deep snowy mountain panoramas were sent in trendy and strikingly often - for Evoq, a sign of the longing for snow in this warm winter. Chocolate, but also wooden animals or ice scrapers serve as gimmick inserts in the value-added mailings. One association's mailing that caught our eye was a whole battery of candles that addressed the impending energy emergency and thus wanted to ensure that Christmas would not take place in the dark.

There were few surprises in the digital greeting cards, Evoq writes. For example, festive greetings had often arrived as part of a newsletter or advertisement. The jury's conclusion: the 2022 vintage "are dry guetzli compared to previous years." This concerns not only the quality of the communication, but also the quantity of mailings. At the same time, this is also a positive message. With little competition, good communication also stands out more.
