Epica Awards: Three Swiss agencies on the shortlist

This year's Epica Awards will be presented on December 8. Ruf Lanz, TBWA\Switzerland and Wirz can hope.

Epica AwardsThe shortlist for this year's Epica Awards has been announced. The Epica jury has evaluated more than 3000 submissions and has the shortlist compiled. The Zurich agency Ruf Lanz can hope for an Epica Award in five categories. In the food category, TBWA\Switzerland has the chance to win one of the coveted pyramids. And with its viral hit for Switzerland Tourism featuring Anne Hathaway and Roger Federer, Wirz is in the running in three categories.

The shortlisted projects will now be evaluated by the Grand Jury in a second round. On December 8, the Gold and Grand Prix awards will be presented at an online ceremony. Who wins silver and bronze will be communicated on the website the following day.

With a total of 3099 projects, the award recorded a slight decline in submissions compared to the previous year, which the sponsoring body attributes to the absence of Russian agencies. Most submissions came from North America (400), followed by Ukraine (396), Germany (276) and France (158). There has been an increase in submissions from Asia, particularly Thailand, China and India. Networks such as McCann, Publicis and Accenture are particularly well represented this year, but independent participants continue to make up the majority, accounting for over 55 percent of total submissions.
