The climate wins! Within six months, young people from German-speaking Switzerland were able to produce their commercial for the climate with the support of film and acting professionals. Under the direction of jury president and Zurich city councillor Michael Baumer, four awards were presented. The jury also included Christian Jungen (Director of the Zurich Film Festival), Jörg Wild (CEO of Energie 360°), Karin Heberlein (filmmaker), Nadine Arnet (actress) and Silvia Banfi Frost (Energy Officer of the City of Zurich).

A total of 17 climate films made it into the final selection. "With Energiefilm Züri, we offer young people between the ages of 13 and 18 the opportunity to get involved in climate issues with self-produced films, thus giving them a broad hearing for this important topic," says Daniela Mininni, Head of Communications at Energie 360°.

Online voting still running

Once again, The Brandpower and Energie 360° were able to win the Zurich Film Festival as a co-partner for the Energiefilm Züri. Also on board were media partner Radio Energy, production partner Tonstudios Z, and the Musical and Drama School Samts.

Those who want to watch the promotional films for the climate can still do so now at the big Online voting and cast your vote yourself. There you will also find all the background information, facts and the award winners. All four award-winning films will be shown in Zurich cinemas for a month in spring 2023 as a commercial for the climate and will be rewarded with 1,000 Swiss francs. And after that, the next round is already underway: a third season has already been confirmed.

The Idea Award went to Jasmin Jeyakumar, Nikola Bogosavljevic, Emma and Tsering Anodunkhartsang; the Audience Award to Dario Stamm and Sebastian Hamburger and the Best Film Jury Award came from Ida Huber.
