Graubünden Ferien's "Grandparents Advance Sale" campaign honored as best cross-media campaign
The Goldbach Crossmedia Award was presented for the 15th time on Wednesday evening in the Samsung Hall. The "Grosseltern Vorverkauf" campaign by Graubünden Ferien with its cult ibexes Gian and Giachen from Graubünden Ferien won the award. Of the 21 campaigns submitted, Jung von Matt/Limmat impressed the jury the most.
The Goldbach Crossmedia Award was presented for the 15th time this evening. For the second time, the event took place as part of the Best of Swiss Web Award Night in the Samsung Hall. The 12-member independent jury of experts, headed by Marco Taborelli (Marco Taborelli Consulting), chose the "Grosseltern Vorverkauf" campaign by Jung von Matt/Limmat.
The children's book "Gian and Giachen and the shooting star mountain" was available for purchase exclusively by grandparents for two weeks in April 2018. With this campaign, Graubünden Ferien wanted to give grandparents and their grandchildren unforgettable moments, as they announced in a press release. Around 80 bookshops throughout Switzerland were enthusiastic about the idea of this exclusive pre-sale and took part. Grandparents had to identify themselves at the checkout with a photo, a drawing or a letter from their grandchildren - or they brought their grandchildren to the pre-sale themselves. The pre-sale was activated via various media channels and lifted the book to number 1 on the bestseller list on the very first day of sales. "We are incredibly proud of the award, because it can be seen as recognition of how much attention to detail went into this cross-media and sales-driven campaign. From the order button in the online store to the activation at the PoS, this campaign radiates human warmth everywhere. The purpose of bringing generations together with the help of the book was fully achieved," said a visibly delighted Dennis Lück on winning gold.
In addition to the winning campaign, the second and third place winners were also honored at the Crossmedia Award. The "Rivella Unlimited Bottle" campaign by Notch Interactive received silver. And third place went to AMAG Import I Division Audi with its campaign "the Audi e-Hub", the launch campaign for the Audi E-Tron. This campaign was realized by MediaCom Switzerland.
Even after 15 years, Michi Frank, CEO of Goldbach, is still passionate about the event: "This year, too, I am delighted with the various campaigns we have seen. It makes you realize what media can do today and how we can combine them optimally."
