The Sponsoring Excellence Award 2019 goes to Julius Baer

The first Sponsoring Excellence Award from Sponsoring Switzerland was presented on Thursday at the Zurich Härterei as part of the "Great Night of Sponsoring". Julius Baer came out on top. The jury presented the team with the award for the outstanding implementation of the campaign as title sponsor of the Julius Baer Zurich E-Prix on June 10, 2018.


Julius Baer is the winner of the first Sponsoring Excellence Award for the members of Sponsoring Switzerland. Angelo Stamera, President of Sponsoring Switzerland, is very satisfied with the premiere: "With the award in the context of the "Great Night of Sponsoring" we want to offer a platform to our members and their employees as well as to the topic of sponsoring. We succeeded excellently and are pleased to congratulate Julius Baer for the excellent campaign."

As a Global Partner of "FIA Formula E", the private bank has been investing in a megatrend that will shape our future since the inception of the all-electric racing series in 2014. The "FIA Formula E" combines motorsport with tests for innovations in technology, mobility and the development of "smart cities". Formula E's forward-looking, innovative approach is in line with Julius Baer's corporate values and its "Next Generation" philosophy. Therefore, the bank also considers the competition an ideal sponsorship platform to increase brand awareness around the globe. 

In June 2018, Formula E made a stop in Zurich. As title sponsor, Julius Baer used the platform to outline its visions for the future with a broad mix of communication measures, while at the same time demonstrating the private bank's expertise.

Jury president Urs Wyss, CSO Ticketcorner, is full of praise: "The ten projects submitted offered a colorful cross-section of the Swiss sponsorship landscape, and all received consistently good ratings. However, Julius Baer's E-Prix project stood out, standing out from the well-known competitors in many respects: Innovation, conception, impact and relevance - the overall impression was simply excellent."
