PR Image Award 2018: Valais "Alpine Life" Best Swiss PR Image
Grächen and St. Niklaus Tourism and Trade wins the PR Picture Award 2018 for Switzerland with the photo "Alpine Life". Stefan Walter photographed the extreme everyday life of the Alpine races in the Mattertal for the Valais destination marketing.
The motif prevailed against around 1,000 applications. This is the 13th time that the DPA subsidiary News Aktuell has presented the PR Picture Award for outstanding photography by companies, organizations and agencies.
Eljub Ramic, Managing Director of News Aktuell: "Valais is fascinating - even beyond the Swiss borders. Last year, a primal breed from Valais - the black-nosed sheep Berta - was able to bring home our prestigious industry award. This year, it is the hard yet rich life of the Alpine herds that touches us. Perhaps because in our stimulus-flooded and rational world we sometimes long for the mystical and archaic. The winning picture succeeded in evoking these associations in us. And at the same time to sharpen our view of the tourism region Mattertal."
Elena Bieler (Marketing Manager at Grächen and St. Niklaus Tourism and Trade), Cecile Matter (Project Manager at Geotourismus Mattertal) and photographer Stefan Walter accepted the prize at the festive award ceremony in Hamburg's Grünspan on Thursday evening. The photo convinced the jury and the public alike and achieved the best overall rating. It was taken by the Swiss photographer Stefan Walter.
Video journalist David Rohde and Janina von Jhering, Deputy Head of Corporate Communications at dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur / News Aktuell, hosted this year's celebration. A guest appearance was made by German singer and songwriter ALINA, who performed her song "Die Einzige" for around 250 guests from the media and PR industry.
For Germany, the winner this year was the photo "Dream Big" by Mini Molars Cambodia e.V.. The best PR picture of the year from Austria is the photo "Minipig Rudi wieder gesund" from Vetmeduni Vienna.
