"Social Contacts" by Ruf Lanz is Poster of the Year
The "Social Contacts" campaign wins the 2017 Poster of the Year award at the Swiss Poster Awards. The expert jury presented a total of 15 awards in six categories. The winners received their awards at the Poster Night on March 8, 2018 in Zurich in front of around 300 invited guests.
This year, the title "Poster of the Year" goes to the poster motif "Social Contacts" - created by Ruf Lanz for the Autism Forum Switzerland. The awareness campaign for people with autism spectrum disorder is based on the image idea of hostile animals painted in detail on hands.
They show strikingly what the headline describes: "Social contacts can scare people with autism." In an exemplary manner, this skillful implementation illustrates how attention-grabbing the classic poster can be in promoting a more understanding togetherness - if the creative idea behind it is right.

A total of 230 entries were received for the competition. Of the 28 nominees, 14 campaigns were selected and awarded a Swiss Poster Award in gold, silver, or bronze by the 20-member expert jury. The winners of the Swiss Poster Competition were particularly convincing with their witticisms, outstanding craftsmanship, and innovative implementations.
The awards were celebrated with a gala in the Samsung Hall. TV and radio presenter Alexandra Maurer guided around 300 invited guests through the evening. The stage show, created by Marcel Weiss and his team, fascinated the audience with poster subjects that were projected onto mobile billboards using new 3D mapping technology. Following the award ceremony, the audience enjoyed the APG|SGA Poster Night 2018 at a dinner party until midnight.
You will find the photos of the Swiss Poster Night 2018 in the next issue of Werbewoche (6/2018).
Fascinating: the presentation of the posters using 3D mapping technology.
