SRF film "Gotthard" wins at the Seoul International Drama Awards

At this year's Seoul International Drama Awards, Urs Egger wins the prize for Best Director in the TV Movie category with the SRF Swiss film "Gotthard". SRF co-productions also impress at the Fantoche Festival.

The world's best TV dramas were honored for the twelfth time at the Seoul International Drama Awards on September 7, 2017. Urs Egger received the award for Best Director for the historical two-parter "Gotthard. "Gotthard" convinced the jury and prevailed against 265 other productions from 55 countries. The TV event movie is a SRF film in co-production with ZDF, ORF, RSI, RTS and SRG SSR.

Various SRF co-productions also won awards in five categories yesterday at Fantoche, the International Festival for Animated Film in Baden. "Airport" by Michaela Müller won in the Best Swiss category, while Lalita Brunner received the New Swiss Talent prize with "Immersion". Kilian Vilim's "OOZE" won two awards, in the Fantastic Swiss and Swiss Youth Award categories. And "In a Nutshell" by Fabio Friedli is honored with the Audience Award. The international Fantoche Festival in Baden celebrates the art of animated film in all its forms and promotes artistic filmmaking. Launched 22 years ago, Fantoche has established itself as Switzerland's largest cultural event for animation.
