The Clio Awards are among the most prestigious international creative competitions. In the Swiss creative ranking, which is published annually by Werbewoche, they carry the same weight as Cannes or the British D & AD.

Ruf Lanz has been nominated for a Clio in the film category: with the spot "Second Chance" for Museum Haus Konstruktiv. The film, which demonstrates a refreshingly humorous approach to the topic instead of museum-like detachment, has already won several national and international awards, including at ADC Switzerland, the Edi, the ADC of Europe, the Epica and the Cannes Lions.

The Zurich agency Walker is also nominated in the film category. With the spot "FlyBoardFishing" For Fisherman's Friend, the self-proclaimed "smallest agency in the world" led by founder Pius Walker has already caused an international sensation. For example, the campaign recently won the Audience Award at the Spotlight Festival (Werbewoche.ch reported).

In the Direct category, a third independent Zurich agency, Freundliche Grüsse, is aiming for a Clio Award. With the campaign "Return to Sender" Freundliche Grüsse drew attention to the problematic behavior of Swiss commodity traders on behalf of the organization Public Eye - and was awarded a bronze Cannes Lions for its work in June (Werbewoche.ch reported).

The remaining shortlists in the Brand Design, Product Design, Film Technique, Public Relations, Audio and Audio Technique categories will be published on September 5. The winners will be honored at the award ceremony on September 27, 2017 in New York. (hae)
