Webrepublic wins first "Digital Agency of the Year" award

On February 22, 2017, the "Digital Marketing Award" of IAB Switzerland was presented for the seventh time in the categories "Digital Marketer of the Year", "Digital Newcomer of the Year", "Digital Lifetime Award" and newly "Digital Agency of the Year".

For the first time, the award was presented as part of the new digital marketing event D:Pulse, which attracted over 1,000 visitors in its first year.

"The Digital Marketing Award 2017 was the perfect conclusion and one of the highlights of an eventful and successful conference day of the first D:Pulse 2017," says Roger Baur, Managing Director of the IAB.

From search engine agency to full-service performance provider

In the Digital Agency of the Year category, the prize was awarded for the first time this year; to an agency that is at the cutting edge of technology, business and advertising: Webrepublic. From a pure search engine agency, Webrepublic has grown into an owner-managed full-service performance provider with around 120 clients, 8 services, in-house software engineering, 12 native languages in-house and offices in Zurich and Lausanne. Over the past year, the agency has been heavily involved in Programmatic Advertising, demonstrating its strong expertise in this area as well. The award was presented by Matteo Schuerch of Converto and Roman Hirsbrunner, President of LSA Leading Swiss Agencies. Also nominated were: Equipe, Jung von Matt/Impact, Namics and Futurecom Interactive.

Most successful European crowdfunding campaign ever

The Digital Marketer of the Year Award goes to a company that has made a special contribution to the digital development of the advertising market. Nominees were: Audi, Mercedes, Raiffeisen Switzerland, Saas-Fee and Siroop. Saas-Fee took home the prize. Saastal Marketing realized 2016 together with Saastal Bergbahnen with over 90,000 season tickets sold at a price of CHF 222. The most successful crowdfunding campaign ever carried out in Europe. The broad-based digitalization concept implemented in 2015 and the back-up provided by the digital marketing platform "Smart Marketing Engine" make Saastal Marketing the innovation driver for the digital transformation of the Saas-Fee/Saastal destination.

Webrepublic founder receives Liftetime Award

Tom Hanan, Founder of and Managing Director at Webrepublic, was honored with the "Digital Lifetime Award". Whether at Yahoo or Google, his home is the digital world. In 2010, he and a partner founded the agency Webrepublic, which is now one of the largest agencies in Switzerland. He has shaped the industry with his projects and deservedly receives the honorable award presented by Cyril Hänggi, Head of Sales Interactive at SevenOne Media.

The "Digital Newcomer of the Year" award went to Jennifer Kahn, Online Marketing Specialist at BMW Switzerland. Jennifer Kahn was the participant with the best final grade in the "Diploma Course Digital Marketing - Basic Course" of the IAB Academy last year. The prize was presented by Dragan Dojcinovic, Key Account Manager at Tamedia. With the "Digital Newcomer of the Year", the special importance of the topic of training at IAB Switzerland is highlighted.

Successful start of D:Pulse in Zurich with over 1,000 visitors

David Burst, President of the IAB Switzerland Association summarizes: "A successful day for us and the industry. The concept with the mix of a conference with international visionaries and the Swiss focus in the master classes as well as the numerous networking opportunities worked out. For the first time, the IAB Switzerland Association launched the new digital marketing event D:Pulse in Switzerland in partnership with dmexco, the world's leading trade fair & conference for the digital industry. Already at its kick-off, D:Pulse has been a complete success.
