Communications measures that were used in Germany, Austria or Switzerland in 2016 can be submitted until October 7. Prizes include megaphones in gold, silver and bronze in the individual categories and the Grand Prix in the campaign category. Last year, Ogilvy & Mather cleared the Grand Prix with its Easter Bunny Lawn. Nominees, award winners and the Agency of the Year are decided by an independent jury of experts made up of clients from the corporate side, creatives and strategists from agencies, and representatives of the media and trade media. Anne-Friederike Heinrich, Editor-in-Chief of Werbewoche, is also on the jury of The year of advertising.
Until vintage 2014 is submitted free of charge
With the "Newcomer Agency of the Year" award, Econ-Verlag has been promoting agency start-ups since 1991. The winners of the prestigious title include Jung von Matt, Heimat, Berlin and Lukas Lindemann Rosinski. In 2008, Rod Kommunikation took the last Newcomer Agency of the Year title to Switzerland. But many freshly founded agencies do not have the money to participate in the competition. That's why young agencies will no longer have to pay anything to take part in the regular competition in the future. Commenting on this new offer, Econ publishing director Jürgen Diessl says: "With our Newcomer Agency of the Year award, we have been able to accompany many of today's established agencies on their way over the past 25 years. However, only one agency can win this title each year. In the circle of applicants, however, we see numerous promising works, which we would like to give a platform and thus additional start-up support with our new initiative." This year, the earliest possible start-up date is January 1, 2014. The work will be evaluated and juried as and along with all other submissions. Those wishing to enter "for free" must submit appropriate proof of incorporation.
