Newsroom Communication for Züri West: PR for album and podcast

The 14th studio album "Loch dür Zyt" with the single of the same name and a look back at 40 years of band history with the podcast "8424 Züri West": Newsroom Communication has accompanied Züri West in recent months with a variety of communication measures.


Bern's most legendary band was quiet for a long time, but on 22 November last year, Züri West were suddenly back: the band published a short video on their socials - a street survey in which passers-by were allowed to listen to the latest single. The clip went viral and broke all previous records for the band with over 40,000 views on Instagram alone. A clip made entirely by Newsroom: it was conceived, produced and published on Züri West's channels by the Bern-based agency.

After that, things went from strength to strength: the new single "Loch dür Zyt" was released on November 23, followed by the album on December 8 (since then at number 1 on the Hit parade), the first two of six episodes of the "8424" podcast on December 10, with the others following on a weekly basis. Newsroom provided communications support for all of these releases.

Close cooperation with Audiobande

"8424" was created by This Wachter and Simon Meyer from the Audioband and highlights the band's 40-year history with all its ups and downs in 6 episodes. Storytelling at its best! Newsroom set up all distribution channels for the podcast and took care of the hosting and publication of the individual episodes. The release of the individual episodes was accompanied by teaser reels on Züri West's socials - all produced and published by Newsroom.

The project was based on close collaboration with the management of Züri West and Audiobande with daily exchanges. Only in this way was it possible for "8424" to become probably the most successful music podcast in Switzerland to date, topping the Swiss podcast charts for over three weeks (across all genres). The six episodes have been listened to a total of around 130,000 times so far.

At the end of January, the "Loch dür Zyt" project for Newsroom comes to an end for the time being: the vinyl edition of the album is released.
