Alain Berset's head of communications Peter Lauener leaves

Peter Lauener will give up his position as head of communications at the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) as of September 1. On an interim basis, his deputy, Christian Favre, will take over this function.

Peter Lauener has headed communications for Federal Councillor Alain Berset's FDHA since August 2019. Lauener, 52, had been working as the department's communications adviser since 2012, the FDHA wrote in a statement Wednesday. According to the statement, the former journalist and former communications adviser to the Federation of Swiss Trade Unions wants to reorient himself professionally.

Christian Favre, 46, who will take over as interim head on September 1, has been Lauener's deputy for the past two years. (SDA)
