FCB Zurich creates new HCD appearance

The new jerseys that FCB Zurich has designed for the HCD are intended to radiate pride in their roots. With their retro look, sewn-on letters and laced collar, they are reminiscent of the early days of the Davos field hockey club.

The HCD jerseys for the 2017/2018 season emphasize the origins and tradition of the Swiss record champions. The DAVOS lettering is proudly emblazoned on the chest. Together with the laced collar, this pays homage to the legendary jerseys from the early years of the Davos Hockey Club. Each letter is sewn on just as it was back then - as are the digits of the player number and the name of each individual player. A touch of the NHL. The traditional look is completed by the Davos crest, which is incorporated into the collar, and the HCD logos embroidered on the sleeves. "This season, all of the HCD's communication measures focus on its origins. That's why we were inspired by the legendary jerseys from the 1930s and used embroidery to set specific accents. This makes the new championship shirts more valuable and gives them a touch of the NHL," explains Creative Director Andy Lusti from the agency responsible, FCB Zurich.

Teamwork with the sponsors. A significant contribution to the blue and yellow appearance is made by the sponsors, who have once again decided to forgo the background colors of their logos in favor of the club colors. "After the positive feedback we received for last year's jerseys, we are continuing on our chosen path. We are delighted to have the support of Graubündner Kantonalbank, Burkhalter Group, Rhaetian Railway, BMW, Albert Spiess, Südostschweiz Medien, Hotel Seehof and R&S Print." Managing Director Bill Mistura expresses his thanks to the HCD's long-standing supporters.

The new look is well received. The coach and the players are just as enthusiastic about their new work wear as the fans. According to a survey conducted by Südostschweiz, 94 percent of readers like the new HCD jerseys. The HCD will wear the new shirts for the first time during the preparation games in Kazakhstan. In Switzerland, the Grisons record champions' new outfit will be seen for the first time at the first championship game. The new shirts are now available in the HCD fan store and at Hcd.ch. In addition to the elaborately embroidered original shirts, cheaper versions, so-called replica shirts, with printed letters and numbers are also available.
