The crew will fly a total of two times from Zurich to Berlin on Wednesday. To celebrate International Women's Day on board as well, the cabin crew will distribute a sweet treat to all female guests on the selected flights.

The PR idea of putting together an all-female crew for International Women's Day came about within the Lufthansa Group without any agency involvement, as Swiss explains in response to an inquiry from Werbewoche. It is "extremely rare" for an aircraft to take off with an all-female crew, says spokeswoman Sonja Ptassek. Women currently make up 4.7 percent of Swiss pilots (as of the end of January 2017). (hae)
