At "Empack 2024", competence partner SVI will once again be supporting and organizing the "Packaging Talks" lecture series with its network of experts, thus combining specialist knowledge with networking. Model AG, the trade fair's premium partner, will be presenting its innovative packaging solutions. The "Packaging Talks" 2024 in collaboration with the SVI
The supporting programme organized in cooperation with the Swiss Packaging Institute (SVI) will once again form the backbone of Empack. Visitors can expect a compact platform for intensive and profitable discussions about the future of packaging. In addition, the exhibition of the winning and nominated exhibits for the "Swiss Packaging Award 2023" will be presented here and an outlook for the coming year will be given.
The opening on January 24 will begin with a keynote speech by André Gierke, Managing Director of EPR Compact, who will offer insights into the "regulatory tsunami" in the packaging industry. Renato Vögeli from Vögeli Druck AG will shed light on the "Cradle to Cradle" approach, followed by a panel discussion on ecology and resource conservation. Erich Jaquemar from the Vetropack Group will continue with information on reusable glass packaging and a discussion on the dilemma of packaging functions, presented by Dr. Thomas Gude. The second day of the "Packaging Talks" will be dedicated to topics such as e-commerce, digitalization and skilled workers. Severin Kasper from Model AG will open the day with a keynote on perfect e-commerce packaging, followed by Marc Holitscher, National Technology Officer at Microsoft Switzerland, who will present specific AI applications in the packaging development of tomorrow. In the afternoon, Andreas König (Swiss Supply) and Stephan Haas (Lplus) will discuss dream jobs in the packaging world. Christian Haltiner, Managing Director Switzerland at Dassault Systèmes (Switzerland) SA, will conclude the day with a keynote speech on the harmonization of sustainability and packaging in the age of virtual twins.
Innovations in the "Start-up Zone by Swiss Food Research"
In addition to the "Packaging Talks", there is a "Start-up Zone by Swiss Food Research" with innovative companies. Swiss Food Research is an association that supports start-ups and accompanies them from conception to implementation. The "Packaging" innovation group deals with the question of how food can be packaged as sustainably as possible. Start-ups that have developed innovative products and found new solutions to this challenge are presented here.
