Bern Welcome, Bernexpo and Kursaal Bern join forces

Business tourism is of great importance, accounting for more than two-thirds of all overnight stays in the destination of Bern. Bern's potential as a congress destination will be exploited even better with immediate effect: Bern Welcome, Bernexpo and Kursaal Bern are joining forces to form a community of interest under the name Congress Hub Bern. Around two thirds of overnight stays in Bern have a business background. The decline in business tourism during the pandemic has made the importance of the MICE sector for the entire guest sector and that of the related value chain noticeable throughout the trade.

With Bern Welcome, BERNEXPO and Kursaal Bern, three Bernese companies are now joining forces to form the Congress Hub Bern community of interest in order to exploit synergies and expand the joint network. The cooperation aims to bring existing and new congress formats to Bern and thus generate sustainable added value for the entire region in every respect. This is achieved primarily through joint market cultivation, coordinated acquisition planning and the development of ideas emerging in the location into new event formats. The aim is to further establish Bern as a leading congress destination in terms of attractiveness and service quality for national and medium-sized international congresses, trade fairs and events by 2025.
