Grand Casino Lucerne receives Tourism Award

Because it has responded to the changes in the tourism industry with flexibility and an innovative mindset, Casino Luzern has now been honored with an award.

At the tenth edition of the Festival of Hospitality, the Grand Casino Lucerne was honored on Saturday evening for its special services to the tourism region at a gala held at the KKL. The casino received the Tourism Award of the Lucerne Tourism Forum. The reason: Innovation and development are the focus here. Since 1882, the neo-baroque palace building of the casino has shaped the cityscape of Lucerne and attracts lovers of gambling, but also gourmets and culture enthusiasts. In addition to the casino, there is also an online casino, a restaurant, and meetings and events.

"Such an offer under one roof is unique and shapes the attractiveness of Lucerne as a tourist destination," says Daniel Salzmann, CEO of Luzerner Kantonalbank and member of the search committee. He added that the casino has responded to changes in the tourism industry with flexibility and an innovative mindset. "The pandemic presented us with major challenges, but thanks to the online casino we were able to compensate for all the declines," said the CEO of Grand Casino Lucerne.
