Social media conference: The Webstage Masters move to the mountains

For the fifth time, the Webstage Masters provided insights into important trends from the world of social media - next year, the conference will move to the middle of the mountains.

At the end of October, the Master Class Day took place in an exclusive setting with around 170 participants. They were able to choose between ten interactive master classes and take away a concentrated load of social media knowledge. The afternoon kicked off with TikTok on the Garden Stage with a presentation entitled Paid vs. Organic and Ellie Media on the Gärtli Stage on the topic of podcasts. Followed by Digital Content about Gen Z and Influencer Marketing up to LinkedIn and Pinterest Take-Aways everything was there.

For Tanja Herrmann, founder and CEO of Webstages, the new format has proven its worth, as she told Werbewoche: "We are extremely satisfied. The Master Class Day was already sold out six weeks before the event. As far as I know, this is rather untypical for conferences. Our goal with the Master Classes was to pass on extremely practice-oriented knowledge directly - according to the feedback from the participants, we succeeded."

The Conference Day also took place for the fifth time. Around 400 people from the fields of marketing, communications, PR and media were given a parallel insight into the most exciting innovations and best practices from the national and international social media world on two stages.

On the Main Stage, 20 Minutes opened the stage and provided insights into the news platform's newly launched social media first strategy. Among other things, they explained why they are focusing on TikTok and how they can reach young people in the process. Franziska Coninx's presentation from Migros Genossenschaftsbund also focused on the emerging video platform. Using the newly launched M-Budget iced tea "Tastea", which sold out within a very short time, she showed the potential of co-creation on TikTok.

Not to be missed were Daniel Bekele from YouTube with his insights on YouTube shorts, Dominik Lämmler from Meta with a look into the future on the topic of Metaverse, and Hannah Johnson from Snapchat on the topic of augmented reality and how it is already changing our world today and has reduced returns for mail order companies worldwide.

Time for the next step

After five successful years in Zurich, Switzerland's largest social media marketing conference is taking the next step and renting an entire village in the middle of the mountains. "The current location no longer allows us to grow, which is why we decided to take this step," explained Tanja Herrmann. "With over 570 visitors:inside and various master classes and panels on the side stages, we are bursting at the seams. But we didn't just want more space, we wanted a setting that would provide an unforgettable setting for the enormous transfer of knowledge, and Engelberg does just that" she explained further.

November 8 & 9, 2023 in Engelberg

On November 8 and 9, 2023, the Swiss marketing industry will spread out over various stages throughout the village in Engelberg. Engelberg can be reached from all major Swiss cities in less than two hours. In breathtaking settings, participants:inside will learn exclusively from the biggest social media platforms in the world what's new. They will be inspired by best practice cases and get first access to the latest social media studies from Swiss universities. Whether interactive master classes, lectures by experienced speakers from practice and research or surprising panel discussions: Over the course of two days, visitors will receive countless inputs for their work. With a view of the Swiss mountain landscape, they end the day networking with the most exciting personalities in the social media industry.
