No Olma in 2020

Now the Olma, traditionally held in October and Switzerland's most successful public fair, had to be cancelled. Compliance with the distance rules would not have been guaranteed at this large public festival with 363,000 visitors.

Olma

Due to the currently very dynamic situation and the still low case numbers of Covid 19 diseases, the responsible persons of Olma would have liked to wait with the definite implementation decision until the Federal Council decision on June 24. There are two main reasons why the Board of Directors of Olma Messen St.Gallen decided on June 5 to cancel Olma 2020: On the one hand, the implementation of a trade fair on the scale of Olma requires an organizational and planning lead time of several months - not only for the organizers, but also for exhibitors, special show organizers or the host canton, so that orders can be placed and preparations made in good time. On the other hand, compliance with a distance rule at Olma would not be feasible, even if the currently valid distance of 2 meters were reduced.

Olma

Olma Messen is working intensively on various concepts to restart the trade fair and event business as quickly and safely as possible.

It is a central concern of Olma Messen St.Gallen to be able to start again as soon as possible with a corona-compliant public operation, which can be quickly adapted to the changing framework conditions. The aim is to give exhibitors and visitors of the fairs and events, the public of Eastern Switzerland as well as organizers of events again space for encounters and joie de vivre as well as possibilities for economic activities.
