By 2040, the labor market in Germany will be short ten million people compared to today due to demographic change. To compensate for the consequences, 77 percent of industrial decision-makers are already relying on "colleague" robots.

Makeathon: More young talent

From idea to implementation: At the Automatica Makeathon 2020, around 250 international young talents from the fields of software engineering, mechatronics and mechanics develop software and hardware prototypes for robotics, the Internet of Things and automation in just 30 hours. A contest for exciting new solutions - and the ideal recruiting environment for themselves. The neologism "to make" and "marathon" refers to a collaborative software and hardware development competition within a specific time frame.

For young talents with a passion for technology, the Automatica Makeathon offers optimal opportunities to turn theoretical knowledge into practical software and hardware prototypes. For participating exhibitors, on the other hand, the successful format is a perfect employer branding tool. Because they create awareness for their own company without wasting coverage, can sound out the skills of potential employees and have plenty of room for concrete recruiting discussions.
