To assess the quality of life in each city, 39 criteria were analyzed that play a key role from the perspective of employees posted abroad. These characteristics include political, social, economic and environmental aspects, among others. In addition, there are factors such as health, education, transportation and other public services. For the current study, we examined Mercer for the first time, the characteristic "personal security" was included separately. This is because political and social stability at the place of assignment has the greatest influence on expatriates' quality of life. The ranking of the safest cities worldwide is headed by Luxembourg, followed by Berne and Zurich (both in second place) and Geneva (sixth). This means that three Swiss cities are at the top of the global safety comparison. Helsinki is also ranked 2nd, with Vienna following in 5th place.
