The upcoming winter will be challenging: Guests from high-growth long-distance markets travel mainly in summer, while winter business will be dominated by guests from Europe. The Swiss Institute for Business Cycle Research (KOF) at ETH Zurich continues to forecast stagnation in hotel room nights (+0.1%) for the winter as a whole. A result that is characterized by the support in the home market (+1.1%) and the decline in foreign guests (-0.7%).Switzerland Tourism is doing everything it can to support the winter business. The aim is to convince the Swiss of their own country - with inspiration and offers to rediscover right on their doorstep. For example, by promoting young talent for snow sports; ideal means for this are initiatives such as the broadly supported snow sports initiative Switzerland. In love with Switzerland

InLove
For example, Switzerland Tourism launched a campaign in Bern at the end of October: around 500 ski instructors from more than 58 Swiss winter sports resorts set out to deliver the message of love #INLOVEWITHSWITZERLAND to proclaim. Together they formed an oversized heart, stretched out red and white umbrellas and let the whole thing come to life through rhythmic movements of the umbrellas. Thus the snow-white Swiss cross began to throb in the passionate red of the heart. The goal: to herald the winter and awaken the desire for winter sports. The action was moving: passers-by stopped in surprise and were taken in by the heartily committed ski instructors and let themselves be inspired for the white season.
