The online service Twitter prohibits the placement of advertisements that deny or trivialize climate change."Misleading ads on Twitter that contradict the scientific consensus on climate change will be banned in accordance with our inappropriate content policy," Twitter's sustainability manager, Casey Junod, said Friday. "We believe that climate change denial should not be monetized on Twitter."
Twitter had introduced a feature last year that allows users* to specifically find conversations about climate change on the platform. "We recognize that misleading information about climate change can undermine efforts to protect the planet," Junod said now.
