Virtual data glasses make it possible. Virtual reality has been used in tourism for some time now. In the fall of 2014, Marriott's "Teleporter" enabled newly married couples to travel virtually to London and Hawaii in front of New York City Hall. To bring interested parties to the vacation destinations, they used Oculus Rift goggles and enhanced the experience with elements such as heat, wind and shaking floor tiles in their teleporter cabin to provide a fully immersive "4D" experience:

Or Samsung, which opened a diving store - 700 miles from the sea - with its project in Alice Springs, Australia. Customers could literally dive into a new world with the Gear VR headset:

These virtual reality opportunities also work in the meetings and events industry. As the examples show: The technology has arrived with us, the Samsung Gear VR has recently become available in stores, users can pre-order Oculus Rift and in April the HTC Vive will be launched. What's more, any smartphone can now be transformed into a VR device in just a few simple steps. In this way, virtual reality is becoming a new channel and a sustainable marketing tool to reach target groups. Virtual Reality can be used as an "appetizer" and as an innovative means to market a destination. Trafo Baden led the way by developing an app and a pair of cardboard goggles to experience the floor plan of the location. Experts agree: it won't be long before others jump on this bandwagon and make their location, destination and rooms a virtual experience.
