As part of its omnichannel strategy, the Manor department store group ensures the use and linking of stationary locations and online stores and also operates an online marketplace for selected suppliers and brand partners on Manor.ch. "We attach great importance to further optimizing the shopping experience for our customers. The online area is continuously developing into an important second pillar of our sales strategy," says Stefan Wetzler, Chied Digital Officer at Manor. "The modernized system not only enables us to meet the demand today, but also offers simple and fast integration options for all future projects on our digital strategy roadmap. The technical basis has been laid to continuously develop the platform further."

Equipped for the future with a new CMS

The new digital system landscape lays the foundation for the connection of further innovations. The future-oriented flexibility is to be ensured via the versatility of the CMS Amplience and the front-end React Framework Application. With the help of an integrated, Java-based middle layer, which serves as a data interface, mediation takes place between the individual surrounding systems.

The new CMS is designed to facilitate the orchestration of campaigns across diverse channels and media formats. Numerous options for customizing individual pages enable target group-specific or time-related adaptations and thus improve the individualized control of the e-commerce presence.

Mobile first

The project focused in particular on improving the mobile version, which generates more than 70 percent of the traffic. In addition to the search function, a central part of the optimized shopping experience is the filter function, which allows users to select several attributes one after the other in full-screen view without the tool closing between the individual selection processes.

"Manor.ch's new online store impresses with app-like loading times. Speed and reliability are two core elements of usability that we focused on during the realization of the high-performance store. The result is a state-of-the-art product that also promises a higher conversion rate and a reduced bounce rate on mobile devices," says Georg Kühl, Chairman of the Board of Nexum.
