The AAIB has a new website

To better reflect its status as a center of excellence for accident prevention, the BFU Accident Prevention Advisory Service has revised its brand identity. The centerpiece of the new image is the new website. The agencies Ginetta, Noord and Campfire are responsible for the implementation.

Accidents happen in Switzerland every day. Statistics count over 1 million non-occupational accidents every year. On its new website Bfu.ch the AAIB shows and explains how accidents can be avoided. The information offered is aimed at the entire population. At the same time, the AAIB also provides specialist information for experts.

Simplified navigation and fast access

To facilitate navigation, the more than 660 content pages have been fundamentally reorganized. On the homepage, access is now via a filter that reflects the central areas and contexts of accident prevention. Research-based information on accident occurrence in Switzerland is thematically bundled and summarized in clearly arranged dossiers.

From the dossiers, visitors can access the advice pages with concrete prevention tips. Legal background knowledge, technical explanations, images and videos can also be found there. Content for experts is also embedded on the pages. A practical in-page navigation is designed to enable quick navigation through the various topics.

In addition to the dossiers and guides, the new website also offers a magazine, a search function for the more than 1,200 contacts of the AAIB in Switzerland, information on safe products, political positions, media releases, course offerings for professionals and a store with all AAIB publications. The range of services is being expanded on an ongoing basis.

Login area with new services

The login area of bfu.ch has also been revised and includes special offers for professionals such as safety delegates in municipalities, police traffic instructors, safety officers in companies or sports retailers. The information relevant to them is summarized here and watch lists can be created for frequently used prevention topics.

Receiver oriented design

The new website was conceived and designed in a user-centric way and focuses on the needs of visitors. With just a few clicks, they can find answers to virtually all accident prevention questions. To ensure that this succeeds, the results of the individual design phases were subjected to extensive user tests. The concept and design came from the Bernese agency Ginetta, the image concept from Noord. The technical implementation of front- and backend in the content management system Umbraco was done by Campfire.
