The sales figures are public data on the one hand and estimates on the other. The estimates are marked with a *, respectively the estimate of the sales split for Digitec.ch and Galaxus.ch with a (*). All data are verified by Carpathia and by an expert group coordinated by Carpathia.

The sales figures represent pure online sales in millions of Swiss francs for the 2018 financial year. The top 30 B2C include marketplaces with own sales including marketplace share (e.g. Amazon), but without income from commissions. The listed revenue corresponds to net revenue, i.e., the revenue from goods excluding VAT and adjusted for returns and cancellations.

Top 5 B2C combine almost one-third of revenues

With a total of CHF 5,782 million, the top 30 B2C online retailers together generated 58 percent of the total online retail sales of CHF 9.9 billion generated in Switzerland in 2018.

Of the top 30 B2C online retailers, the top 5 alone account for 31 percent, almost a third of sales. Looking at the top 10, the figure is already 41 percent.
