App guesses what you want to write: TouchPal introduces the world's first AI keyboard

TouchPal, one of the award winners at Mobile World Congress 2018, presents the world's first keyboard app with artificial intelligence. The "TouchPal AI Keyboard" is the first keyboard to use an AI engine in combination with a personal assistant.

Using this innovation, the AI keyboard assesses the context and environment of the conversation to optimize typing. "We are extremely excited about our AI keyboard," Qiaoling (Susan) Li, chief marketing officer of TouchPal, was quoted as saying in a statement. "It opens up a whole new communication experience for users."

Previously, virtual keyboards used the n-gram language model to predict the next words based on a limited number of previous words. In general, these sentences did not make sense. The new AI engine uses the neural language model (NLM). This allows even more previously used words to be analyzed, making it possible to identify semantic relationships between words.

Using state-of-the-art AI technology, Talia, TouchPal's AI assistant, goes through over a hundred million speech patterns to understand the meaning of conversations. Talia is not activated manually by voice command, but activates all by itself under certain circumstances. Talia also does not have to be questioned separately. She recognizes questions on her own and answers them depending on the context. For example, if plans for dinner are being discussed in a conversation, Talia automatically provides recommendations based on the content of the conversation. In addition, Talia offers Swift Paste, GIF forecasts, weather forecasts, currency conversions and calculations.

Thanks to Talia, users can interact more effectively with their smartphones. Talia makes the TouchPal Keyboard the world's first AI keyboard. It will soon be available on Google Play ready for download.
