You can now add GIF stickers to Instagram stories
Beating hearts and bouncing letters: Instagram continues to try to catch up with Snapchat, launching animated GIFs in the Stories feature.
Instagram is launching GIF stickers, the social network writes in a blog post. Just as it was previously possible to add stickers to photos or videos, there will now be a GIF option that users can select. Clicking on it opens a collection of hundreds of thousands of stickers that move - including bouncing letters, dancing cats and beating hearts. The animated stickers come from Giphy.
In addition, it will be possible to add photos and videos of any size to a story in the coming weeks. This means that it will no longer be necessary to crop this content as before. Whether square or landscape format: Excess space will be filled with a color gradient that matches the photo.
