Airbnb Switzerland: No one offers more apartments than Migros
The apartment broker Airbnb is growing unabated in Switzerland. Also thanks to a partnership with Interhome and Inter Chalet, both companies of the Migros subsidiary Hotelplan.
This writes the Handelszeitung in its current issue. Via Interhome and Inter Chalet, Hotelplan brokers more than 40 percent of all apartments advertised by so-called multi-host providers with more than ten properties. No other multi-provider has an offer that is only approximately as large. The two Hotelplan companies currently have more than 1900 such properties posted on Airbnb.
"Migros is clearly the biggest multi-host," says Roland Schegg of the Valais Tourism Observatory. "Airbnb has been a distribution partner of Interhome since 2016. The offer has been steadily expanded in recent months," says Interhome spokeswoman Bianca Gähweiler. In total, the company cooperates with Airbnb in eleven countries. According to Airbnb, there are currently "just under 29,000 accommodations listed on Airbnb in Switzerland." As figures from the Valais Tourism Observatory show, this corresponds to a growth rate of 60 percent compared to the previous year. (pd/hae)
