Publicitas Digital becomes NewBase Digital Switzerland

Publicitas International was renamed NewBase in May of this year. The brand is now also being launched on the Swiss market - the name Publicitas Digital is disappearing.

Publicitas has rebranded its digital businesses in Zurich and joined the global NewBase brand. This follows the rebranding of Publicitas International to NewBase in May this year. The name change is intended to emphasize the company's new identity as an independent, technology-based media consultancy.

NewBase Digital Switzerland will work with leading media, technology, data and market research institutes to support Publicitas' business activities. The traditional media business will continue to operate unchanged under the legal name Publicitas.

NewBase has transformed from its traditional media beginnings into a full-service independent company that delivers strategic value across all advertising channels, combining its heritage in media with the latest agile technology solutions to reach its target audience. Joining the global brand enables the Swiss digital business to benefit from NewBase's strategic technology developments and partnerships.

Jörg Nürnberg, Group CEO, explains in a press release: "This rebranding is the next step in our journey. Margarethe Dopf succeeds Stefan Wirth

Stefan Wirth - former Head of Digital - will be leaving Publicitas at the end of 2017 to take on a new professional challenge. Wirth has worked for Publicitas as Head of Operations in the Digital division since 2013 and took over the overall management of the Digital department in October 2016.

The company has recruited a digital expert from within its own ranks to succeed Stefan: Margarethe (Maggie) Dopf already took up her new role as Head of Digital on August 1. She has been working at Publicitas as Team Leader Account Management since September 2015 and has successfully built up the department during this time. The national digital sales activities of NewsBase will remain under the management of Silvana Imperiali.

NewBase:View" will also be launched in the coming months. "NewBase:View" is the first technology innovation that NewBase Digital has brought to the market as an independent media consultancy. The tool can be used to track digital campaigns live. This provides customers with a global and detailed overview of their expenditure and the advertising performance received in return. The tool adapts to the customer's objectives and ensures greater transparency and ROI in the purchase of programmatic advertising, according to the press release.
