Immersive Perspectives

Both agencies are enthusiastic about the possibilities of these new immersive technologies. Bitforge, an established and experienced service provider for mobile applications and games, has recently been able to implement an increasing number of virtual reality projects.

Hinderling Volkart also deals with virtual worlds and has built up the relevant expertise. Back in spring, a content creation workshop was held and interested people were shown how to create real virtual experiences that inspire. Only those who experience the new technologies first-hand can discuss and develop ideas. For this reason, insight was provided into a wide range of new devices and content.

In keeping with the theme, the event took place at the Museum of Digital Art (MudA), a location that has been supported by Hinderling Volkart since its launch in January.

The event was opened by Michael Hinderling and Reto Senn, who gave a review and outlook of virtual, augmented and mixed reality in his presentation. Afterwards, visitors were able to explore very specific applications at seven stations and try out the latest devices such as Playstation VR or the Hololens from Microsoft.

One of the highlights of the event was the virtual balloon flight over three-dimensional Switzerland by Suisse Mania, a customer project for Migros based on Web-GL. The balloon flight was virtual, but the balloon basket was in real space, which greatly enhanced the immersive experience and is an example of the direction in which so-called mixed reality experiences are heading: the merging of the virtual and real worlds.

The exciting and lively discussions took place - Hinderling Volkart and Bitforge are extremely satisfied with the event and are looking forward to the future with excitement. 2016 has brought the technologies. Now it's time to use them and prove that they can create real added value. Bitforge and Hinderling Volkart are looking forward to this.
