Equipped with 112 monitors and weighing 3.7 tons, the Media Globe is the eye-catcher of the new Media World exhibition at the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. It hangs in the entrance hall and is a unique construction that symbolizes the diversity of content and technology in today's media landscape. The Media Globe is one of 13 stations that show the present and future of the media. The Swiss Museum of Transport and Red Bull Media House as initiators and Schmauder Rohr as general planner are setting trends in the design of media worlds of experience with the new Media World.

Media World: Dynamic content

Analogous to the fast-paced, news-driven media world, the content of Media World is also constantly changing. Images and TV reports are constantly updated and adapted to current events. "Media World offers a new experience concept that is probably unique in the world," explains Martin Rohr, owner of Schmauder Rohr. "The dynamic exhibition vessel is constantly changing and also makes it possible to produce specific media content for a wide variety of user groups. In other words, the scenography can be used in an individualized way. Schools make films in the morning, visitors shoot selfies during the day, and corporate events of a training or entertainment nature take place in the evening."

Production and consumption

At 13 stations, Media World adapts global media trends, integrates them and continues to develop dynamically. As a highlight of the world of experience, visitors can use a professional TV studio, take part in directing and production work, and discover what possibilities modern media technologies open up. From the control desk, they control the recordings and switch live to the greenbox. Another highlight is the 360-degree booth, a photo booth that creates three-dimensional full-body selfies in a matrix effect. In a Game Lab, visitors can try their hand as game developers and design their own mobile game. In addition to media production, media consumption will also be addressed. A modern classroom will demonstrate the influence media have on everyday school life. "Media permeate our everyday lives, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day," says Martin Rohr, explaining the overall concept. "As exhibition organizers, we wanted to actively involve visitors in the production of content - from directing to editing TV reports or games. Media World is meant to bring the fascinating world of media to life 360 degrees, from young to old. We succeeded quite well in that."
