After a slump last year, the number of participants in the Federal Examination for Communication Planners has recovered in the current year. Almost 100 candidates took the exam.

Of the 96 candidates, a good 75 percent successfully completed the exams in Zurich (oral) and Biel (written). In German-speaking Switzerland, 50 candidates and 22 in French-speaking Switzerland will be able to call themselves communications planners with a federal certificate of proficiency. This opens the door to an exciting and challenging career in the communications industry.

Top grades in women's hands

With Jacqueline Mäder, marketing employee at Ebi-Vital in Kirchlindach, Veronika Wiesgickl, who works as a translator at Vaudoise Assurances in Lausanne, and Tanja Zahner Brasser, marketing communications planner at Forster Profilsysteme in Arbon, three women ex aequo excelled with a final grade of 5.2. The coveted professional certificates will be presented to them on June 23, 2017 at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Bern.

After slumping last year, participant numbers recovered in 2017 to the level of previous years. This gives hope that the practice-oriented, in-service training continues to meet a vital need both among young professionals themselves and among agencies and advertising clients.
